I see everyone callingKnize the best grain cart and everyone talking about new auger flighting- like every other year. I custom harvest too and I vote hands down for J and M.
They are very well built only one moving part-the auger, no chains, and no excess auger wear. Above all a lot less cracking of grain especially wet corn. Our latest one holds well over bu. We dn't use the scale anymore we prefer the combine yield monitor. Knize's are hard on augers. Bigred Guest. They have been excellent carts for us, but we are looking at getting one large cart now. We've been running a Brent for four or five years and I like it because it's a simple design that's built to take abuse.
I have seen that cart come off the ground more than once after hitting potlholes and whatnot in the fields, but it has never had any damage to it, nor has it ever broken down and we do 15,, acres a year of harvesting per year.
My only beef with it is that it's a little slow when you get down to the the end of unloading a load of wet corn, which is what the kinze guys will tell you they like better. I don't dislike kinze, I like the fact that since they've chosen to build a force feed system, they're backing it up with stuff that's built to withstand the rigors that come with that type of design. But we got the Brent bought right and it's been a very good and reiable cart.
I wish that there was a combine made that worked as simply and trouble free as that cart, but who doesn'tIJ. Yes I have used the Kilbros cart. It is very similar in design to Kinze with a few exceptions which I believe reduces the price of the kilbros cart. The augers on the Kilbros aren't timed like a Kinze and there is no tank on the Kilbros for oiling the chains. Other than that they are quite similar to a Kinze and are overall a good cart.
I agree that Kinze are great carts, only one better is the avalance by brent. Flat dumps the grain with their 20" unloading auger. We have had Kinze , , orthman , now brent I like the brent best easy to fill, fast to unload. I hear Kinze is talking of 20" unload augers now.
