These programs are a natural extension of what we offer at INP, allowing us to support leaders across their entire career trajectory, from their first job all the way through leadership at the executive level.
INP is an ideal strategic partner, and Yolanda and I hope that our collaboration will be a model for the sector. Through this programmatic transfer to INP, the RISE and Summer programs will be able to scale to reach many more Fellows and integrate these emerging leaders and New Sector alumni into a much larger network of social impact leaders across the country.
This will strengthen the field of equity-focused nonprofit leadership development for years to come. The program also hopes that candidates will have proven records of setting and meeting goals and show a genuine interest in taking on responsibility within New Sector, with their host organizations, and in managing their own career development.

Guy Lebanon Board President. Susie Lee Advisor. I like how New Sector sets you up with a specific project that is very meaningful to the host site organization. My main project this summer is to make a training and handbook for the people we hire to do child development screening in Boston. This is different than other internships I have had because I feel like a real employee and I am very motivated to do my work because I know how important it is to Thrive in 5.
I like that I work on my project independently, with periodic check-ins with my supervisor. I am proud of the work I have done so far, and by the end of the summer I will have a tangible product the handbook and training that is all my own work and will be extremely valuable to the organization.
The time commitment of the fellowship is more than I am used to.
